Miniroos (U8 to U12)

Box Hill United’s miniroos program aims to develop highly skilled technical players with the right attitude that are driven, passionate and respectful of their environment, to enable them to achieve high levels of personal excellence.

What we cater for

Our Mini Roos program is from the ages of U8 – U12. Boys and girls wishing to join, are subject to trial and should view football as their priority sport as a high level of commitment is required by both players and parents.

How we do it

Our foundation program provides an environment in which players are developed in all aspects of football in a structured manner according to the BHU curriculum that includes our 8 core element focus.

We offer a 45 week program that is in line with European best practice for youth players.

Tournaments & Programs

Selected teams play in a variety of tournaments, including Pre & Post Season Junior Super League competitions against teams from all over Melbourne & Australia.

The club offers additional futsal programs in Terms 1 & 4 and is looking at providing holiday clinic options throughout the year.

The club is also exploring options for older age group players to be involved in specific speed and agility programs that complement existing training.

Outcomes

Our program is designed to develop players so that they possess high levels of our football elements with enhanced Game IQ and a positive attitude.

This is to prepare players for NPL Boys & Girls teams and subsequent high level pathways to senior football.

Players are coached by accredited coaches who conduct sessions based on age specific and competency level requirements and are overseen by our Foundation Technical Director.

Teams play in Football Victoria accredited home and away Miniroos fixtures on Sunday mornings.

Technical sessions (Saturday mornings) are conducted by age group, where specific skills are focussed on and tested to track improvements.

All players are exposed to futsal sessions monthly to further enhance their touch, control and game intelligence.
