Box Hill United's 2017 team planning has taken a massive step in the right direction with both last years Players Player of the Year and the Runner Up putting pen to paper for the 2017.
Building from the back, last years Player of Year Goalkeeper Keegan Coulter has chosen to stay on at Box Hill for a 2nd season, despite offers from the NPL as he said "My heart is at Box Hill, I enjoyed it there last season and winning Players Player of Year meant alot to me. I have unfinished business, promotion, so that is what we are going for this season"
"Keegan was outstanding for us last season" said coach Greg Kassidas "He won us 12 points, so it was really important for us to keep him, so we are delighted he has put pen to paper"
The 2nd player to sign was the Runner Up in the Player of the Year Thomas Lakic. The 19 year old former Melbourne Victory, South Melbourne & Oakleigh Cannons Centre Half came in the transfer window and made a huge impact he made as Greg Kassidas went on to say "His ability, enthusiasm and leadership qualities made him hugely popular in the dressing room last year and his signature is a big one for us. Lakic himself was delighted "I love it here and wanted to stay I really enjoyed it last season"
It is expected the majority of last season's squad will re sign for the club when they start back pre season training next Monday 7th November and they may be joined by some of the 50+ trialists that are trailing this week at the club. One player that has moved on is Kobbie Boahene who has moved up to the NPL with Port Melbourne with the best wishes from everyone at Box Hill.
