Box Hill United has a long and proud history based out of Wembley Park in Box Hill. It is one of the areas most recognised clubs. Our mission is to provide a progressive environment that enables our players to reach their highest potential. Our aim is to develop complete footballers with continued emphasis on improving technical and tactical capability. We focus on executing purposeful possession, quick transition and understanding the football picture. We introduce and work on physical preparation, including strength & conditioning, as well as positive mindset.
The journey of our players will be guided by the Box Hill playing style and team model, underpinned by the FFA curriculum of playing a pro-active brand of football, developing effective possession and cutting-edge players able to break down organised opponents. Key defensive principals of quick transition and collective pressure are integral. Our overall aim over time is to develop a Senior Men’s squad around a core of experienced players along with members from its junior development squads.
The Box Hill technical director will work with the coaching leadership team to further develop our total football program. Most importantly the TD will ensure the implementation and the compliance to the agreed total football program. The coaching leadership team includes the senior men’s and women’s coaches, women’s TD and miniroos TD.
The role is about quality and not quantity. The focus is mainly football and football matters. Standard football administrative duties will be required. Parent interface will be at a minimal level as they are supported by Team Managers and Age Group Coordinators. Any resolution of football disciplinary matters or perceived conflict of interest matters will require the TD to address.
From time to time parents and other key club stakeholders will need to be addressed outlining direction and progress.
Key responsibilities include:
Ensuring the health and safety of all players, coaches and support teams.
Ensure alignment to the Box Hill Purpose and Values
The development of players to their highest potential
Talent identification and the implementation of accelerated learning programs.
Implementing agreed coaching systems and regular coach feedback.
The Coordination of coaches.
The performance management of coaches against agreed objectives
Monthly TD reporting as required by FFV.
Being aware of the latest football trends and performance tools.
Sharing football knowledge throughout the club.
Communicating effectively within the football department and with other football departments.
Being passionate about developing young footballers
Being a progressive and strategic thinker who can see the BHUSC holistic perspective.
Being a “can do” TD with a positive attitude and a focus on finding solutions.
Actively engaging, ethical, respectful, reflective and not afraid to seek feedback.
Outstanding and effective communication skills – interpersonal and written.
Position remuneration will be available to a suitably qualified candidate by negotiation and structured in line with the successful candidate’s skills, qualifications and experience.
