Vacancy – Media Officer (Voluntary)
An exciting voluntary opportunity has arisen within the media department at Box Hill United SC, ahead of the club’s 2019 campaign.
Based at Wembley Park, the successful candidate will be playing a key role in maintaining and developing engaging content for the club’s official website and social media channels during the upcoming season, both for home and away matches.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Primarily covering the men’s and women’s senior teams across league and knock-out competitions, and the youth teams as and when required.
Writing news/feature articles and press releases, as well as conducting interviews with players/coaches.
Working in coordination with other departments within the club to highlight their activities on the club’s digital platforms.
Keeping the club’s official social media communications up-to-date across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.
Excellent standards of written and spoken English.
Sound editorial understanding.
Proficiency in using digital media.
Ability to work within specified deadlines.
A creative nous to develop relevant content.
Basic IT skills, and knowledge of Photoshop and/or audio-visual editing software.
General understanding of football.
The ideal candidate will be able to showcase high professional standards as a representative of the club’s official media team, be proactive, possess a ‘can-do’ attitude and an eye for detail and accuracy.
This role is a perfect opportunity for a current sports media/journalism student, or a recent graduate, to gain valuable work experience for their resume, and work as part of a great team within an ambitious soccer club.
