Box Hill United Soccer Club - Committee structure moving forward
Alex Palmos has officially communicated to you our club members of his decision to step down as president and as a committee member from our club. Alex has given so much to the club over the last 18 years as President and is now looking forward to spending more time with family and friends and spend time at Box Hill as a supporter.
Along the journey as president Alex with the support of the committee were instrumental in building the club to what it is today. There are so many highlights including the successful merger of Southern Suburbs with Box Hill United, establishing Box Hill United as an NPL licensed club, attaining a WNPL license and the redevelopment of Wembley ground. We thank you Alex for your tireless and significant contribution to our wonderful club. We look forward to seeing you around the club and especially on game day.
In the meantime from an operational perspective it is business as usual in preparing for 2019 season.. We have had extensive conversations with Alex about his decision including the transition from Alex to myself as club President over a period of time which Alex has initiated. We have also appointed additional people to important committee & non-committee roles. You can see the list of roles at the bottom of my email.
Our committee structure resembles a corporate organisational structure which we believe allows us to support the club in a more dynamic and efficient manner. Mindful that we are all volunteers with certain expertise and like everyone at the club including our members all have busy lives.
This latest update of our structure broadens our capabilities and increases diversity both in having more women on the committee and increased representation from more groups within our club. I welcome all our new committee and non-committee leaders and thank you for volunteering your time to help our great club.
We are all looking forward to a very exciting 2019. We will regularly keep you updated on the direction of the club and upcoming events.
