Box Hill United are delighted to announce Mavi Homes Projects as one of the club’s sponsors ahead of the 2019 season.
Jointly run by George Raftopoulos and Theo Manifavas, Mavi Homes Projects specialises in the multi-unit residential building sector, based at north Essendon.
What began as a carpentry firm 10 years ago has now flourished into its current stature, and the company aims to service developers undertaking projects, as well as handling their own projects.
While George’s role as construction manager finds him looking into quoting and contract liaison with the clients, Theo assists customers during the construction phase as project manager.
Describing how the partnership with Box Hill materialised, George said, “We work in conjunction with an architect, whose son plays for the [club]. So, he approached us and asked if we wanted to be on board as a sponsor, and we were more than happy to come on board. That’s how the relationship came about.”
George, who is more inclined towards Australian Rules Football than soccer, and Theo, who describes himself as a Chelsea (English Premier League club) fan, both agreed that their common passion for sport in general was key in deciding to support local football.
“We come from a European background, so football is in our blood from that perspective. We share an association in that regard – with a soccer club and [through] an interest in the game as well. It’s good to be able to assist with grassroots level and help develop the game in the state,” explained Theo, whose favourite footballer is Belgian winger Eden Hazard.
While George reasoned, “Although I didn’t play soccer like Theo, I did play a sport, which formed the passion and gave me some ambition in becoming a team player. This plays a role in anything we do, even in our industry – dealing with various trades and people – and moulds you into that person you become.
“Seeing children get through that phase of life and having done that ourselves – it’s good to be able to support something in this manner, and it’s exciting to see them grow from children to adults and be a part of it.”
Box Hill United revenue and sponsorship manager Sam Weller welcomed Mavi Homes Projects as our newest sponsor and said, “It is terrific to have Theo, George and the Mavi Homes Projects team on board as a BHU sponsor for season 2019.
“They are a quality builder and if any members, or their friends and family, are looking at undertaking a multi-unit development then we would encourage them to get in contact and support a business that supports our club.”
