Box Hill United complete BlueCross partnership

March 29, 2019

Box Hill United are pleased to welcome on board our latest sponsor, leading private aged care provider, BlueCross.

Since 1993, BlueCross has built a strong reputation in the aged care sector, providing quality and flexible services across Victoria including residential care, home care and respite services.

Following a merger with Sapphire Care in December 2017, BlueCross now operates 33 aged care residences throughout the state, supporting over 2500 residents and more than 1000 home care clients.

BlueCross Box Hill is the newest addition to BlueCross’ growing number of aged care residences. Spanning three levels, the state-of-the-art residence offers both single rooms and apartments – all complete with private ensuite bathrooms. Phase 1 began operations in October 2018, with Phase 2 expected to be completed by September this year.

BlueCross Box Hill residence manager Sally Marshall hailed this partnership saying, “It’s very exciting. It is a great opportunity for our residents and families to engage with the community and that’s something very important for them.

“BlueCross has been around for over 25 years and we’re growing. We want to provide more opportunities for our residents to engage with the community and Box Hill United are a perfect fit, given the close proximity to our residence. We are looking forward to a mutually rewarding and beneficial partnership for both organisations.”

Sally’s day-to-day role at the Box Hill residence covers a wide range of responsibilities, with the emphasis on creating a safe and welcoming environment for all residents and their families, who are supported by BlueCross’ highly experienced and trained staff.

Describing how the community-centric values of BlueCross align with those of the club, Sally added, “We (BHU and BlueCross) are both in industries where we work with people. And when you are working with people, you want the best for them, you want to see them achieve their goals, whether it be through sports or through activities that can connect them to the community.

“[There are] some real benefits. We are both communities in our own ways. The connections are there – that we are both united and coming together for a common reason, and we have common interests.”

Box Hill United revenue and sponsorship manager Sam Weller welcomed BlueCross’ association with the club, echoing the sentiment.

“We are really pleased to have BlueCross join us as a sponsor of Box Hill United this year. There are terrific synergies with the two organisations serving the community we both share, the club from a sporting perspective and BlueCross in elderly care,” he said.

“The fact that BlueCross is supporting BHU through sponsorship is a great indication and testament to the extent that they are connected and engaged with their local community. We certainly value their support and would encourage any of our members, who have an upcoming need for aged care in their family, to consider the valued services that BlueCross provides.”
