Box Hill United are delighted to announce the arrival of Scottish midfielder Scott Lochhead into our senior men’s squad for NPL3 2020.
Lochhead, from Glasgow, spent his formative years with some of the biggest outfits in Scottish football, including Rangers, Celtic and Dundee United.
The cultured midfielder then made his senior bow with Dunfermline Athletic in 2016, and further enjoyed loan spells at Clyde and Forfar Athletic.
In 2019, Lochhead was with Bentleigh Greens, and briefly trained at Langwarrin SC.
Looking ahead to the task at hand in Box Hill colours, the left-footed midfielder said, “I am happy to have joined Box Hill and I am looking forward to hopefully a successful season for [the club].
“I was excited with what they (the Box Hill coaching team) had to say and their ambitions for the upcoming season. It’s something I wanted to be a part of.
“It looks like it is going to be a strong league, with some teams from State League 1 [being] sleeping giants.”
Eager to instantlyfit into the scheme of things at Wembley Park, the 22-year-old added, “I hope I can bring quality to the team, to help them and be positive in the front third.
“I am comfortable on the ball, once I get up to speed and get a bit of pre-season training under my belt.
“I like to cover a fair bit of ground, and be a team-player – first and foremost. That’s my target for the new season.”
To stamp his authority and adapt to the forthcoming challenges, Lochhead is banking on his vast past exploits with some of Scottish football’s most established names.
He reflected, “It gave me an insight into what you have to do to be at the top level, and the standards. I know when I am doing things right, when doing things wrong.
“Hopefully, I can use my previous experiences in the years gone by and turn [those] into a positive for myself.”
