Following the easing of Stage 3 restrictions relating to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic from May 13, Football Victoria has today advised of 'Return to Training' conditions for Victorian clubs.
These mandatory conditions have been built within the framework provided by the Sport & Recreation Victoria (SRV), in correlation with the latest Government advice.
It is essential that all clubs review and implement these conditions before returning to training. They contain strict boundaries for the number of players/staff, types of activities, facility restrictions and safety measures required to safely conduct training.
We are currently working on plans to return to training as soon as possible, in line with these guidelines. We are in close contact with the Whitehorse City Council seeking access to our training venues at their earliest convenience, and meeting any conditions they may have in relation to that access.
The return to training conditions will be amended in accordance with any future Government directives.
Football Victoria continues to work through a range of different options with regards to competition schedules, and remains committed to working with all stakeholders to ensure competitive play can resume when further restrictions are lifted.
We urge all members to visit the 'Return to Training' portal through this link, to familiarise yourself with the rules and prepare to take necessary action that anyone training or attending training will need to strictly abide by.
At this stage if everything falls into line quickly, we would think we could return to training within a week or so. This is only a guide for your own planning.
We are, however, in no way confirming a date until all requirements can be met and access to grounds has been authorised. As soon as we have more information, we will be in touch.
